OBJETS D'ART

Objets d'art are works of art that are not paintings, large or medium sized sculptures, prints or drawings.  They are usually small and three-dimensional works of art.  They can be metalwork items, carvings, statuettes, plaquettes in any material.  They can also be gems, hardstone carvings, ivory carvings, porcelain, glass and a vast range of objects that would be also be classed as antiques, such as small clocks, watches, and gold boxes.

Objets d'art can basically be anything that you collect and love to display in your home. They can be displayed as one single item or as a grouping of objects. Objets d'art are the decorative details that can be found in an interior space that would make a room go from bland to stunning.  When placing objets d'art within your space, there is always something interesting to catch the eye at every glance.  My favourite objets d'art are classical objects such as busts, statues and obelisks.  What objets d'art do you display in your home?

A statue displayed in my foyer with one of my own paintings.

A small statue of David and some obelisks on the coffee table in my living room.
