SASSY, SEXY, SPIRAL STAIRCASES

Lately I've been noticing a lot of gorgeous staircases on social media.  I was so intrigued by the unique and beautiful designs in staircases, I thought I should do some research on my own.  I've since then come to realize that my newest design crush is the spiral staircase.

The spiral staircase is a striking architectural element that adds an interesting accent and a glamorous look to modern interior design. Although a spiral staircase design is a functional and space saving solution for small homes, most of the images I've collected for this post are found in some very beautiful, larger, sophisticated homes.

There's just something witty and beautiful in the fluidity and harmony of a spiral staircase. It will be a definite contender for my dream home.

CHASING THOSE WINTER BLUES!

Although winter hasn't officially started yet, today I have a serious case of the winter blues.  Now I know I can't do anything about the snow and the cold; Mother Nature's got this one to a "T".  But what I can do is dream of tropical inspired interior spaces.  Rooms with lots of ferns, banana plants, palms and other tropical plants sure can make you feel like you're in the tropics.  Now I feel better already, don't you?

LARGE SCALE ART

Large scale artwork certainly makes a statement and commands attention in a space to such a dramatic degree that nothing else matters.

It's no secret, and I can safely say that anyone that knows me knows how much I love art. In fact, I keep hinting to my husband that we need a bigger house because I crave more artwork and have run out of wall space.  My favourite type of art is large scale, over-sized artwork.  In my dream home, I would dedicate a special large room just for art, and make it a gallery type space.

How about you, do you have a favourite type of artwork?
